Middle market enterprises (MMEs)

• are not only the core of the Korean economy
  but also a key business category that will restore smooth functioning of the growth ladder.

  Based on world-class technology, they have built an unequaled growth story.
  Though comprising just 1.3% of enterprises, they generate 14.4% of total revenue, 12.8% of jobs, and 18.2% of exports.

• In the globalized era, the core of national competitiveness is enterprises.

  Enterprises are without a doubt the center of the economy, the best welfare provider,
  and the birthplace of good jobs as a foundation for life. The Korean workforce, who comprise the majority of the public,
  work for enterprises whose achievements are returned to society, adding to the prosperity of enterprises.

• A solid foundation is needed for sustainable development through restoration of the virtuous cycle of growth.

  A healthy industrial ecosystem is a must in which small and venture companies can smoothly
  evolve into MMEs and eventually large enterprises. Groundbreaking changes in policy are urgently needed to enable MMEs
  to become specialized global enterprises.

• The post-pandemic era has shown that a return to the pre-pandemic period is impossible.
  In the era of omnidirectional connectivity, solidarity and cooperation are the basic conditions for growth.
  The tasks of elevating early stage of MMEs that could suffer due to insufficient capital and networks,
  and integrating the future of innovative venture companies into new growth engines for MMEs are not only the missions of such
  enterprises, but also lay the foundation for ther growth to become global specialized enterprises. I firmly believe that this will be the starting point for MMEs to set their own roles.

  The Federation of Middle Market Enterprises of Korea (FOMEK) is Korea's one and only legal economic entity representing MMEs. Based on the consensus of Korea MMEs including FOMEK members, FOMEK will achieve gradual changes in the corporate environment. Through a solid foundation, we will lead an evolution into a tight-knit community where everyone is happy. We will take a closer look at the reality of MMEs and expand communication. We will expand high quality services that meet practical needs and expand venues for valuable information and networks.
